How to Hide Your Location on Find My Friends
In today’s digital age, privacy is a concern for many, especially when it comes to sharing your location with others. If you’re using Apple’s Find My Friends app and want to keep your whereabouts private, here’s a guide on how to hide your location on Find My Friends.
Step 1: Open the Find My app
First, you need to open the Find My app on your iPhone. If you don’t have the app installed, you can download it from the App Store for free.
Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Me’ tab
Once the app is open, tap on the ‘Me’ tab at the bottom of the screen. This tab displays your own location and the locations of your friends.
Step 3: Tap on the ‘i’ icon next to your name
Next, tap on the ‘i’ icon next to your name. This will open a menu with various options related to your location privacy.
Step 4: Toggle off ‘Allow Hiding
In the menu, you’ll find an option called ‘Allow Hiding.’ This feature allows you to hide your location from your friends. By default, this option is turned on. To hide your location, simply toggle it off.
Step 5: Confirm your decision
After toggling off ‘Allow Hiding,’ a confirmation message will appear. Tap ‘Turn Off’ to confirm your decision and hide your location from your friends.
Step 6: Disable ‘Show When Unlocked
To ensure that your location is completely hidden, you can also disable the ‘Show When Unlocked’ option. This option allows your friends to see your location when your iPhone is unlocked. To disable it, tap on the ‘Show When Unlocked’ option and toggle it off.
Step 7: Save your changes
Once you’ve made the necessary changes, tap ‘Done’ to save your settings.
By following these steps, you can successfully hide your location on Find My Friends. Remember that your friends will no longer be able to see your location until you turn the feature back on. Keep in mind that this setting only affects your location visibility on Find My Friends and does not impact other apps or services that may require location access.
