How to Deactivate Facebook and Instagram

In today’s digital age, social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have become an integral part of our daily lives. However, there may come a time when you want to take a break from these platforms, whether it’s due to privacy concerns, a need for a digital detox, or simply a desire to focus on other aspects of your life. If you’re looking to deactivate your Facebook and Instagram accounts, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Deactivating Your Facebook Account

1. Log in to your Facebook account.
2. Click on the downward arrow in the top right corner of the screen and select “Settings.”
3. Scroll down and click on “Your Facebook Information.”
4. On the left-hand side, click on “Deactivation and Deletion.”
5. Under “Deactivate Your Account,” click on “Deactivate Account.”
6. You will be prompted to confirm your decision. Choose a reason for deactivating your account and click “Continue.”
7. Enter your password and click “Deactivate Now.”

It’s important to note that when you deactivate your Facebook account, your profile will be hidden from friends and the public. However, your photos, videos, and other content will still be stored on Facebook’s servers. If you decide to reactivate your account within 30 days, your information will be restored.

Deactivating Your Instagram Account

1. Open the Instagram app on your smartphone.

6. Enter your password and tap “Permanently Delete Account.”

Similar to Facebook, when you deactivate your Instagram account, your profile will be hidden from friends and the public. However, your photos, videos, and other content will still be stored on Instagram’s servers. If you decide to reactivate your account within 30 days, your information will be restored.

Deactivating your Facebook and Instagram accounts can be a refreshing experience, allowing you to disconnect from the digital world and focus on your personal life. Remember that you can always reactivate your accounts if you change your mind within the specified time frame. Take this opportunity to step back and evaluate your social media habits, and enjoy a well-deserved break from the constant stream of updates and notifications.
